Had a very Icelandic weekend. Went to see Jónsi from Sigur Rós at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Friday, and managed to get into an in store performance at Amoeba Music to celebrate Record Store Day.

The Jonsi performance Friday was incredible. Feast for the senses. The band is amazing and I think everyone in the theater left feeling a little more happy about life than they did when they got there. His music just has a way of filling you up. He’s such a great performer, and that drummer guy is sick!

Got to meet him and the band at the signing after their performance at Record Store Day. What an experience. Such a cool guy, such a cool group, all of them.

I only spent a little over a week there a few years ago, but something drew me in and I still think about that Iceland trip almost everyday. Today’s image was from one of those serene moments where after a week of driving 2000 kilometers around an entire country, you have a moment to sit back and relax in a town of 20 people, have a steak sandwich and a local beer and reflect. I really can’t wait to go back.
